After admission, these teams will come to Beijing to participate in a three-month Accelerator Program. International startups have the choice to participate remotely We help companies to start from scratch, and to achieve the most critical stage - finding the product market fit. During the process, we work intensively to improve products with funders. Besides, we provide the needed help and resources in sales, strategy, management, and other crucial aspects. As a result, we help funders to embark on the path of rapid growth Three months later, on the closing day, which is also Demo Day, we bring together the top global venture capital firms and angel investors to support our companies. Startups can introduce their companies and present their achievements to investors so that they can quickly get the next round of funding #### Accelerator ### The three-month program is a highly intensive, hands-on program that helps founders quickly find product market fit Every week, there is a one-on-one Office hour meeting in which we give suggestions on various problems in foundership, covering market entry, technology, product, teams, financing, strategy, and many other aspects, to provide founders with real, targeted, and high-quality feedback Group office hour, in-person discussion activity, is organized twice a month for founders to form a community culture. At the same time, we also have closed-door sharing with big names, which will never be shared outside. We learn from the first-hand experience and lessons of foregoers who have started their businesses successfully and understand the ups and downs of their journey We help startups to find resources (business opportunities, recruitment, etc.). We help founders build in-depth connections with Tier 1 companies in relevant industries on aspects of businesses, cooperative opportunities, and industrial information sharing ### Demo Day is the graduation ceremony of the batch. On Demo Day, you can meet the best angel investors and VC investment firms in China. Thousands of investors will be present at each Demo Day, and you can show your project on the stage like a star. After that, you will be followed with interest by hundreds of investors until there’s no space for new contacts in your WeChat list. This would greatly improve the speed and efficiency of your fundraising At the beginning of the three-month program, the startups we funded were all at different stages, and some even had completely changed their ideas after the camp. Therefore, the goal of Demo Day is to get startups on stage to present their products and services as convincingly as possible During and after Demo Day, founders are free to have more in-depth conversations with investors. The goal of startups is to introduce themselves to everyone. In most cases, a series of meetings will be arranged afterward to persuade the investor to close investments #### Demo Day ### The mentors of the MiraclePlus foundership Team include Lu Qi, Luan Yunming, Mao Shengbo, Cao Xuwen, and other professionals in different fields of technology and entrepreneurship. Based on our extensive products and technical experience accumulated in the industry, we provide founders with more targeted suggestions and help start-up teams avoid making mistakes Meanwhile, during the two-day group activities every two weeks, closed-door sharing by top-level guest entrepreneurs would also be arranged. As it is a completely closed-door sharing, video and audio recordings are forbidden, which ensures that the guests can share what is really helpful to founders without reservation. These A-list celebrities come to share the pitfalls they have stepped on and the promotion of their minds. We can also see their profound insights into business and the direction of their own efforts, which would bring great inspiration and guidance to the students of the batch in the future #### Team ### We treat startups equally whether they are successful or not. Adhering to the principle of giving priority to founders, we help to make various decisions and overcome challenges faced by startups from the perspective of service providers We don’t ask founders to make any decisions contrary to their interests. Any choice that is in favor of founders would bring benefits to MiraclePlus. Anything that is unfair to our start-up team would be unfair to MiraclePlus and our community #### Principles ----- # Accelerator > The accelerator runs in spring and fall for about 3 months, with funding, office hours, closed-door talks, Product Day, Demo Day, and an alumni community. Source: https://www.miracleplus.com/batch/ Markdown: https://www.miracleplus.com/batch.md ### MiraclePlus organizes the two 3-month Accelerator Program in Spring and Fall We first invest in the selected projects and then start the program. Many people ask us this question, but we don't do FA business ### The goal of the program is to help early-stage startups really "take off" The startup teams joining the program are at different stages—some have not yet established a company, some have been in operation for several months, some have already produced samples, and some have already worked well However, no matter what stage you are in, the goal of the program is to make you "transform" and really "take off" when you face a thousand investors in three months, compared to before entering the program ### MiraclePlus takes the initiative in investing in every company that has passed the screening and joined the program We invest USD300,000 (or RMB equivalent) in exchange for 7% of the company's equity. If your start-up is not in Mainland, China, then our investment can be made on SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) This investment represents our strong commitment to standing by founders. It is also an effective means to strengthen the connection between them and the MiraclePlus Alumni Community. We don't consider ourselves "investors", and we know how difficult it is to start a business and how hard it is to raise capital. Therefore, we want to give every founder the best investment terms available in the market Not only do we invest in supporting startups, but we also help each of them continue to receive financial support in the market through Demo Day and other means ### Exclusive Events During the program, we invite two guests every other week to share and communicate with the founders face-to-face. The guests are usually entrepreneurs who have successfully started their own businesses. The themes of the sharing are mainly stories sharing, experiences, and reflections on their own entrepreneurship We have invited many "big names" to come here to share with us, such as Zhang Yiming, Lei Jun, Zhou Hongyi, Ding Lei, Li Xiang, and other well-known entrepreneurs It is worth mentioning that the guests we invite are big names with frontline entrepreneurship experience. At the same time, these events are completely closed-door sharing. No video or audio recording is allowed, so as to ensure that the guests can speak without reservation about what is really helpful to founders In the batch, big names share the obstacles they encountered, the enhancement of agilities, their profound insights, and the direction of their efforts. Through interacting with them, founders can learn a lot from these relatively successful entrepreneurs. These sharings can also bring great inspiration and provide guidance to founders in the future ### Office Hour The program consists of group activities where all startup teams participate together, and individual activities where founders have 1-on-1 communications with us We believe that starting a business is quite like getting a Ph.D, as both are to solve problems that have not been solved. Founders have one-on-one discussions weekly with partners on existing issues and problems, just like they had office hours with their mentors at the university This is where we spend the bulk of the time in the program. Most of the topics discussed are up to the founders. Products, marketing, sales, financing, recruitment, management, strategy... Whatever the problem is, we give founders ideas and suggestions to help them solve the problem like a co-founder ### Group Office Hour Founders are lonely. However, in the batch, you would feel that you are in company with a group of confident founders Group office hour gives you the opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss with various founders in the same industry, making similar products to yours, and those from upstream and downstream supply chains. Everyone shares solutions and experiences for the same problem, gives suggestions and feedback to each other, and has heated discussions. Here, you can experience excitement caused by competition among classmates and rapid growth ### Demo Day On Demo Day, you can see top VC investment firms and angel investors in China. Thousands of investors were present on every Demo Day we held before. On Demo Day, you can present your project on stage like a star. You will be followed with interest by hundreds of investors until there’s no space for new contacts in your Wechat list. This would greatly improve the speed and efficiency of your funding Demo Day is a major event of MiraclePlus. There are no specific requirements for the content presented by startups on Demo Day. Before the three-month program started, the startups we funded had been at different stages, and some completely changed their ideas afterward. Therefore, the goal of Demo Day is to get startups to present their products and services on stage as convincingly as possible During and after Demo Day, founders are free to have more in-depth conversations with investors. The goal of startups is to introduce themselves to everyone. In most cases, a series of meetings would be arranged to persuade investors to close investment ### Bootcamp During the program, we usually hold a two-day Bootcamp. We would invite partners or external professional guests to give lectures and share in different fields that fit current alumni's needs. Topics that have been discussed include funding, GTM and sales, corporate culture, government relations, equity incentives, recruitment, etc ### Product Day The internal product presentation day is approximately two weeks after the opening of the batch. All startup teams can present themselves to other participants for the first time on this day. The goals of the event include: (a) getting to know each other's projects and seeing if you might be able to help, and (b) getting founders to start thinking about how to present their projects. Certainly, at this stage, founders still focus on developing products instead of presenting projects, so we would help to reduce their pressure. No one outside of the startup teams is able to watch the internal product presentations The main purpose of the external product presentation day is to help connect our alumni with the right customer resources. On the product presentation day with themes of car companies and metaverse, we invited all relevant domestic major manufacturers to watch the presentations of our alumni startups. In addition to sharing resources, another important purpose of the day is to exchange innovative ideas, so that our alumni companies can also learn something new from the exchanges among these guest companies ### Alumni Community Our alumni network is powerful not only because of its size, but also the steadfast commitment made by its members to help each other. This commitment is originally derived from our attempt to encourage the spirit of cooperation in each batch of projects. Entrepreneurship can be very lonely, so one of the goals of our program is to solve this problem, that is, to provide the founders of companies with only 2 or 3 members with proper colleagues When founders entered our program, they do many things to help each other, such as becoming internal beta users of each other's products or helping with professional knowledge. They may become good friends later. Many of the founders' closest friends are those who worked with them in the batch, just like developing friendships at school We encourage the spirit of cooperation among us, which comes very naturally. Once we realize that this is happening, we start to encourage it so that connections are made between startups and alumni who can boost startups further ----- # Apply For Our Accelerator > How to apply to the current batch, including timeline and application FAQs. Applicants must hold at least 5% equity in the team to be considered a founder by MiraclePlus. Only founders are eligible to participate in the three-month accelerator program. All partners at MiraclePlus will read the application materials. We read independently to avoid groupthink. ##### How do we choose the startups? #### Standing Out **Remember: Concise, specific, and insightful is the secret to making your application stand out!** - **Clearly Define: Who are your users? What is the product's value? **Answer three core questions in simple language: Who are your users? What pain points do you solve or what new experience do you offer them? A simple, straightforward description will help us quickly understand your project. - **Explain in simple terms so even outsiders can understand: **Mentors might not be familiar with your industry, so avoid industry jargon and vague expressions in your application. Describe your product and user positioning in the simplest terms possible. If someone can easily explain it after reading, you've succeeded halfway. - **Get straight to the point: Clearly state what you're doing right from the beginning: **Avoid long introductions. Make it clear with one sentence what your project is about. For example, "This is an enterprise internal wiki tool with a graphical interface," so that the core idea is immediately understood. - **Specific is better than abstract, Use familiar analogies: **Try comparing your project to something everyone is familiar with, such as "Taobao for job search" or "an internal version of Wikipedia." This kind of description is easier to remember. - **Showcase your team and background: **Tell us about the team configuration, collaborative experiences, and the most impressive things each member has done. Specific examples are more convincing than vague descriptions. - **Show your insights and execution ability: **Good ideas are often unique and challenging. Clearly identify the obstacles you've recognized and how you plan to overcome them. Don't try to hide potential problems; instead, demonstrate your deep understanding of the issues and the solutions you propose. - **Keep it concise: Streamline your application: **We review hundreds of applications every day, and longer content can lower your impression score. Before submitting, use a red pen to eliminate unnecessary content and make sure every sentence delivers key information. - **Convince us that you and your idea are worth supporting: **Investors are optimists. If you can show unique insights into the problem, outstanding execution ability, and clear goals, we’ll be more willing to take the risk with you. ##### How to standout in my application #### Video Tips Please do not spend too much time on recording the video. You can use your phone or any video conferencing software (like Zoom, Tencent Meeting) to record. No post-processing is needed, just record and submit. The duration should not exceed one minute (75 seconds is the limit; videos longer than that cannot be uploaded). **We want to learn about your team and project through the video. Please include:** - A brief introduction of yourselves and your project. - Explain why you chose to create this product. - Feel free to share other key information about the team and project, but please keep it brief and casual, not too formal. **Important Notes:** - The video should only include the founders speaking. No editing, screenshots, or background music is required to avoid distractions. - We do not recommend reading from a script. Try to express yourself naturally, as if you’re chatting with a friend. Memorized or read speeches may appear unnatural. - Before submitting, please play back the video to ensure the sound is clear and the visuals are visible, and check for any formatting issues. If needed, you can refer to [Video Sample 1](https://miracleplus-production-videos.s3.cn-north-1.amazonaws.com.cn/1633783078758237.mp4) and [Video Sample 2](https://miracleplus-production-videos.s3.cn-north-1.amazonaws.com.cn/biosysen.mov.mp4) for guidance. ##### Application video guide #### Not Invited? Due to resource limitations, we can only interview a limited number of teams. The top 50% of projects are actually quite good, but the reason they were not selected for an interview is typically because other applications were more outstanding, rather than any lack on their part. Our selection process is a competitive test, where a fixed number of applicants are admitted, regardless of the overall level of all applications. Many teams treat it like a standard exam, but it is not a "pass" or "fail" judgment. Therefore, we are unable to respond to inquiries about the reasons for rejection, as there often isn't a specific reason. Making up reasons is neither honest nor fair, especially to the outstanding teams. Many high-quality applications are not selected for interviews simply because there are even more top-tier projects that overshadow them. ##### Reason for receiving no interview invite ----- # How to prepare a good application > How to write a stronger MiraclePlus application, covering users, founders, insight, and exploration. Source: https://www.miracleplus.com/howtoapply/ Markdown: https://www.miracleplus.com/howtoapply.md ## How to prepare a good application Introduction We will consider carefully Answer questions practically Founders Insights Further inspection Please help us to “make sure” ### MiraclePlus hosts [Accelerator](https://www.miracleplus.com/apply.md) twice a year, in the application, the most important thing is to give a clear introduction - who are your target users? What value does your product provide? What pain points does your product solve for target users, or what new experience does your product bring to users? Seriously, never underestimate the importance of SPEAKING PLAINLY in your application. The mentors in charge of project reviewing may not understand your industry. When preparing an application, you need to be concise and clear so that even a layman can understand it. If you can clearly express what you do, what value your products have, and who the target users are, you are already ahead of most applicants Many projects are excellent, but if founders can't clearly introduce themselves and what they do, we can't tell if the project is good or not. Every year we receive some applications that are obviously good or bad, but there are so many others in between that it's hard for us to tell. These applications look promising, but the applicants don't give us a clear enough message to help us understand what they are thinking According to our estimations, more than half of applicants who qualify for interview invitations fail at the application stage because they fail to explain what they are doing exactly If you want your application to stand out, you must be especially clear and concise. If we receive 1000 applications and we need to finish reviewing them in 10 days, we have to review 100 applications per day. That means, on average, the partner who reviews your application has already read 50 that day and has 50 more. Thus, you must be exceptionally clear and concise to make your application stand out. Whatever you want to say, say it with the most simple words at the beginning ### All MiraclePlus partners will review the application materials. We read individually to avoid group thinkin ### The first question we pay attention to is "What does your company do?" Even though it's not the most crucial question, we look at it first because we need something to MARK the application so it'll leave an impression in our minds The best answer is very practical Please avoid polishing your ideas with too many marketing phrases. For example, "We're going to change the relationship between the human and information," we've been immune to this kind of claim, and they're just like noises to us. They might sound impressive, but it conveys nothing. You can check your answer by doing the following - can your readers retell it? If the reader doesn't get a clearer message after reading the above sentence, then it fails to deliver the information Meanwhile, please avoid elaborating on the importance of the problem you want to solve in the beginning. For example, “Information is the lifeblood of modern organizations. The ability to transfer information quickly and efficiently to those who need it is critical to a company’s success. All other things being equal, companies that gain an advantage in using information effectively will outperform.” Competitors do it better." After reading it, your readers have no idea what you're talking about. A good answer would be: "A database with a wiki-like interface, combined with a GUI that can control who can view and edit objects." We're not sure if this will be the next Tencent or Ali, but at least, after hearing it, we start to imagine what it would look like In most cases, founders are reluctant to provide factual descriptions because those descriptions seem to limit your potential. "But it's more than just a database with a wiki-like user interface!" However, the less restrictive your descriptions are, the less you can say In the same way, we recommend that startups do the same on Demo Day. It is better to describe your project "too detailedly" than to try to paint a big picture and lose your audience. If you have a simple one-sentence description of what you're doing, even if that only conveys half of the product's potential, that's pretty good. Think about it, as soon as you finish your first sentence, you're already at the midpoint of your journey A good way to describe your project concisely is to explain it as a variation of something your audience already knows. You don't have to worry about it making your ideas look "derivative". In the past, some of the best ideas in history started by combining two existing ideas, and no one before realized that it could be done. For example, "It's like an internal Wikipedia for organizations", "It's like an answering service for email", and "It's the Taobao of job hunting". Descriptions like this are very effective ### After spending about 20 seconds trying to understand the startup idea, we look at what kind of startup team it is We want to know what kind of team we are dealing with. Three best friends who are about to graduate from college? Two co-workers who work at the same large company and want to jump ship? Are they all programmers? Or partners of programmer and businessman? In total, there could be 20 to 30 different combinations of founding teams Then, we try to understand the past experiences of the founders. The most important question in deciding this is "Please tell us in a sentence or two about something impressive that each founder has done." To us, this is the most important question in the application. The question is very open and there is no standard answer. It could be that you did quite well in school, or you wrote a very popular software, or you paid your way through college after leaving home at 16. We place a higher value on how big the achievement is than on what kind of achievement you reached. Succeeding in a startup is "extraordinary" in one word, so we're looking for people who can do extraordinary things As with other questions on the application, the best answers are the most specific and pragmatic. Specific examples would be more convincing. Many people answered this way: Jordan is a very dedicated person, and he gives 100% effort to every project. However, such generalizations are not helpful. We don't recommend that you list your start-up experience as your most impressive achievement, because we already know you did it. Why not talk about something else? If you can't think of something that would make you stand out, why not choose the most difficult thing you've ever done? Preferably (though not necessarily) the most intellectually challenging ### After getting to know the founder, we spend more time understanding the start-up idea We pay more attention to founders than ideas because most of the startups we invest in will change their minds drastically afterward. If a group of founders is impressive enough, we will invest in them decisively. Of course, sometimes a really good idea also attracts our attention—because it proves that these founders are smart When we look at a start-up idea, we focus on your insight into it, not its type. Just as what we look for in founders is how big the achievement is rather than what achievement it is. What are the features of your solution? Are you going to start an auction website? This could be a good or bad one. What matters is how you compete with Taobao You need to elaborate on the uniqueness of your solution very specifically, how you will differentiate, and how you will break the monopoly of big companies. Introductions such as "It's well designed and easy to use" are common mistakes. It's not an insight, you're just claiming that you're going to perform well The best start-up ideas are usually idiosyncratic, and very likely they will hit serious roadblocks. They sound crazy to most people, but we want to see that you are aware of these obstacles and have at least one idea of how to overcome them We'd be happy to get an application that answered "What are you going to do with a new search engine that can compete with Google?", as long as it's followed by "We know this sounds impossible, but we think we can gain a foothold in the following ways..." Even if the plan has only a 1% chance of success, it's worth supporting However, if we find out that your idea may face obstacles, but you have never thought about it, it seems there's some trouble. You have at least a few days to ponder your thoughts, whereas we have only a few minutes. Theoretically speaking, it is difficult for us to object with a reason that even you have not thought of Therefore, we recommend that you reveal all flaws in your thinking as much as possible, rather than trying to hide them. If we think of a question that you didn't put up, we tend to think you haven't thought it through. Moreover, we pay more attention to you than your thoughts, and it would be unwise to hide potential problems at the risk of failing in the application ### If the founder seems promising and the idea has great potential, we are willing to spend more time reading the application materials We check submitted videos (Statistically, we're more likely to interview people who submitted videos), we watch presentations, and we look at answers to more realistic questions like equity allocation If founders look promising but their ideas aren't, we'll look at the answer of "founders' other ideas". We are willing to provide founders with funds to support them to implement their alternative plans ### All in all, we recommend that applicants help us believe that you are great. Investors are optimists, and we are the opposite of most people you meet in your daily life If you say you want to build the next Ali or Tencent, most people's first reaction is to doubt. It's partly because the chance of success is slim, and also because most people easily feel threatened by your ambition: you seem to look down on them, even if you don't mean to Investors are different—not because they are more generous than others, but because they get equity. Tell investors that you will build the next Ali, and they will be full of enthusiasm. They don't question it immediately because they like to bet risks. Also, they don't think you're condescending because they want to achieve something great with you Like all other investors, we want to believe in you and your star-tup idea. Please let us see your outstanding strengths, and some unique insights into the problems you want to solve Meanwhile, please remember to be "concise". Please don't try to convince us. If we can understand you, everything else will follow. Every redundant sentence in your application will cause negative impacts. A good way to avoid this would be printing out your application form, crossing out all unnecessary information before submitting your application, and making sure what remains is specific and practical ----- # Why Do We Host Accelerator > Why MiraclePlus runs an accelerator and what the three-month program provides. Source: https://www.miracleplus.com/why/ Markdown: https://www.miracleplus.com/why.md ## Why Do We Host Accelerator How to Apply Successfully Our Mission Closed-door Sharing Demo Day Other Activities Alumni Community Network and Connection Social Activities ### The overall goal of MiraclePlus is to help start-ups get on the right track. Startups enter Accelerator at different stages, with some founders just having an idea and others having started a year or more. No matter what stage a startup joins in, our goal is to help them thrive 3 months later For most startups, "better shape" means two things: having better products and more users, and more funding options. This ratio depends on what status startups are. Startups which are just kicking off want to put more effort into the product, while those that have launched a product usually focus more on funding However, startups at all stages can benefit from the intensity of Accelerator. For three months, we will be in operation all the time, and everyone around you — MiraclePlus, other founders, alumni, and investors — want to help your business succeed. In that atmosphere, it's hard not to be motivated. This extraordinary drive is necessary for entrepreneurship Many founders describe the 11 weeks prior to Demo Day as the most productive period in their lives. Although MiraclePlus will still run after the 3-month batch, and the alumni network will become an increasingly valuable resource, the 11 weeks are still the most important to us. You can't make one person another person, but the right environment can bring out the best in them. That's because most people discover that they have more potential than they realize, and they are often surprised by their abilities ### We arrange closed-door sharing with guest entrepreneurs during the two-day group activities every two weeks in the program We arrange closed-door sharing with guest entrepreneurs during the two-day group activities every two weeks in the program In the batch, big names share the obstacles they encountered, the cultivation of their minds, their profound insight, and the direction of their efforts. Through interacting with them, founders can learn a lot from these relatively successful entrepreneurs. These sharings can also bring great inspiration and provide guidance to founders in the future One founder who experienced a closed-door sharing/dinner wrote: You can hear many pieces of unadorned advice repeatedly, however, even so, it is still valuable—because if you hear the same thing many times from different perspectives, especially from big names, usually, you will be able to understand these truths more deeply. The stories are uplifting, especially those about adversity. That's the beauty of sharing/dinner: You get a chance to learn about the trials and tribulations of these successful startups in their entrepreneurship It may be a pity that only some founders and a few graduates can be invited to the dinner, and there are no audio and video materials to share. However, from another perspective, if we broadcast or record the content of the speech, the speakers may be silent about many things After the sharing, there is usually a short question-and-answer session, after which everyone can leave their seats and chat as freely as they did before the dinner. From our experience, almost all guest speakers stay for a while to continue talking with founders. If some founders particularly want to communicate with guest speakers, we will also help introduce them. Sometimes, founders exchange contact information with guest speakers for further communication ### Half of our activities are participated in by all start-up teams, and the other half are individual exchanges with us We believe that starting a business is quite like getting a Ph.D, as both are to solve problems that have not been solved. In order to provide practical and valuable help to founders, it is not enough to rely on lectures alone. It requires mentors with rich practical experience to solve core problems hand in hand in order to provide guidance effectively. Therefore, the purpose of MiraclePlus Accelerator is not to give a course, instead, our core is to build high-value bonds through Office Hour Every week, founders in the batch have the opportunity to make an appointment for Office Hour, where they can have one-on-one discussions on the specific problems they encountered with our partners (including Lu Qi). It feels like you and your co-founder discuss, strategize, execute, and debug together. In addition, there is a collective office hour, where founders follow up and execute fast iterations every two weeks around the Demo Day, interact efficiently with other excellent founders in the batch, exercise and communicate around the theme, and obtain feedback and inspiration Founding teams can make online reservations for Office Hour unlimited number of times, as long as they need it. Office Hour booking software is not just a tool, it can also let us clearly see whether the founding team gets enough time for interaction, and how many founders are waiting for individual communication. If the waiting list is long, we will schedule more communication time What we communicate during Office Hour depends on the founding team and the specific problems they are facing. Generally, we prioritize helping with the most urgent issues. Sometimes (especially in the early stages), the most urgent thing is to discover what is the most urgent problem to solve. This seemingly trivial problem is quite important and we spend a lot of time telling founders what problems are the least of their worries Instead of trying to solve urgent problems, we spend about 10% of time discussing companies' long term vision, which is necessary. Some startup teams come here with a big blueprint, but most don't. It's important to think about how to grow from a small startup to a large enterprise, although it is not the most urgent at this stage. One of our strengths is to help founders picture a big blueprint, as we have explored and tried many start-up ideas, and we know what are the implications behind each of them Before the founding team decides what to do, or when they want to change their idea, we will discuss what they should do. "What to do" must meet two conditions: (1) develop the product that users want, (2) do what the team is good at. Exchanges like this happen quite frequently here. Startups revise or even reverse their start-up ideas much more often than outsiders imagine Once startups decide what they want to do, the most urgent thing is deciding what to do first. Usually we recommend that founding teams release products quickly and iterate. This may not work for all projects, but most of the time it works. We suggest this because before you release the product, your design is only developed based on assumptions or the feedback of the best seed users. Once you start reaching out to real users, they often respond to the product unexpectedly, and this can really teach you how to build your own products Based on the same technology, startups can actually explore many different directions. One of the most important questions we discuss is what to build first. The general approach is to choose a product with a fast iteration speed and very high user expectations. (The degree of user expectations and how many users expect the product are different concepts). However, in practice, the answer to this question varies from project to project. Our goal is to give founders a clear direction by the end of Office Hour. This goal is almost always achievable, but in practice, about 10% of the time, a product turns out to be poorly designed, then we have to go back to the design board and revisit it Deciding what product to make is not just a technical question, because a start-up is a company, not just a piece of software. Products in the prototype stage also need to have an initial business model. Like products (which can be iterated), business models can be changed as well, but it should base on a basic assumption, like whom to charge, how much to charge, and how to acquire these users If a founding team is ready to launch a product, the Office Hour conversation becomes "how to launch it". This actually involves two issues: how to present it to users, and how to present it to the media and investors. If the startup already has a website, we try to make it as pragmatic as possible. The websites of many startups usually confuse users who visit for the first time, and users have no idea (even have no interest in understanding) what the startup is doing, so the website should concisely and clearly convey the most crucial information of the startup Another part of launching a product is showing it to the press and investors. When startups are ready to present their products, they would stand in front of a whiteboard with our partners, draft the most basic information points, and write out an initial draft that we helped revise. On Demo Day, we will send this manuscript to the cooperative media. Founders can also contact the media themselves, but why we help do their initial introduction? Here are two reasons: (a) we want to help founders describe their companies in plain language instead of marketing terms, or other ways technology founders often use; (b) journalists usually trust us more A Whiteboard presentation room can be used for more than launching a product. It is an essential way for a startup to introduce itself, especially to investors. In addition, it can also help founders sort out their vision If a startup has released a product and had users, then its Office Hour conversations would focus on specific things about its operation. Most startups that plan to launch a new product often encounter some problems, and these difficulties are problems that a startup eventually needs to solve. In practice, these difficulties range from technical bottlenecks to legal proceedings, but the most common problem is that users do not like the released products enough These questions are quite normal, and they lead you to discover what your initial misassumptions are, so now you have at least some data to analyze. So for startups at this stage (those already launched products), the Office Hour conversation focuses on figuring out what users' needs according to the data they've collected, how to get more data about users, and how to reach more targeted users. This is similar to the initial phase when we try to find a breakthrough on the periphery of existing technology, especially when it requires extensive trial and error exploration. Fortunately, in this field, we have very rich experience In addition to this one-on-one Office Hour, we also have a Group Office Hour. This session mainly focuses on the follow-up execution of goals for Demo Day, and also has related topic exercises and exchanges. Here you can have lively exchanges and interactions with other outstanding founders in the same batch, obtain their feedback and inspiration, and of course, there is the excitement of competing with each other As the accelerator proceeded, the topic of Office Hour began to revolve around funding. There are some questions that all startups face, such as how to fundraise, whom they should raise from, and when to start fundrasing. The answers to the questions depend on the circumstances of each startup. Some startups may get enough attention at the outset that they can easily get funds. And other startups are like the transformation process from "ugly duckling" to "white swan", they need to try to raise a small amount of angel funds at the beginning and use these funds to polish them better For startups, it is very important to have an accurate assessment of their funding potential, because funding is like choosing a take-off angle for an airplane. If you climb too steep, the plane easily stalls. In other words, if you plan to raise far more money than you need at this stage, not only will you waste a lot of time and end up with nothing, but it will also affect your chances of raising a small amount of money. Fortunately, our experience can be helpful here. Based on the data of previous startups, we can help you predict the reaction of investors and what kind of funding strategy you should adopt Once the funding starts, the topic of Office Hour discussions shifts from a strategic level to a tactical level. Funding is often a question of how to break the ice. Once you start getting a few investors to investigate, more investors will want to join. So the most important tactical question is who to talk to first and how to convince them. On this issue, our experience can also be helpful, because we have learned about a large number of investors' personality traits through previous interactions with them. Of course, in addition to giving funding advice, we also directly participate in communication with investors and help the startups convince investors. We are often better able to build trust in communication than founders because we have to state the facts; if we lie to investors, they will never trust us again The goal of the Accelerator is not only to help start-ups get funding but more importantly, to find the most suitable investors for them. Our understanding of investors can help us find suitable investors and convince them As Demo Day approaches, the topic of Office Hour conversation becomes mainly about talks and presentations about Demo Day. This is the busiest phase of our batch. As startups are at different stages, they will talk to us differently in the next stage. However, the week before Demo Day, every founder needs to talk to us about what to say on Demo Day. So during the week, the entire Office Hour is arranged into one long pre-demo rehearsal. We often work late into the night as founders need to rehearse full presentations in front of us As in the pre-launch discussion, we figure out with the founders what is the most important message to be conveyed. Then the startup team gives a demo speech around the crucial information, and everyone (we and other founders present) watches the pitch together, and the speaking team will constantly revise mistakes and try again. This model makes the practice of demo speeches significantly better than other models Office Hour keeps open for reservation during the 3-month batch, and only the closing dinner marks the end of the Office Hour activities. Office Hour is open all year round, and all startups that have participated in the program before can make an appointment at any time (except during the interview period, the first week of each batch, and the week before Demo Day, because these time are reserved for startups in the current program) Our Demo Day is also the graduation of the batch. The graduation ceremony consists of presentations from startups. Founding teams present their start-up ideas and progress they made to some prominent investors and resource parties in China On Demo Day, you can see top VC investment firms and angel investors in China. In most cases, a series of meetings would be arranged to persuade investors to close investment ### During each Accelerator period, we also have many other activities The first is Product Presentation Day, about two weeks after the opening of the batch. No one outside of the startup teams is able to watch the internal product presentations We have also arranged some training courses, which are our bootcamp, but our course design is also targeted. We would invite partners or external professional guests to give lectures and share in different fields that fit current alumni's needs The week before Demo Day, we also have an event called Rehearsal Day. The event format is similar to Product Presentation Day, the only difference is that the demo speech on the rehearsal day could be used as the first draft of the speech on Demo Day At the end of the Accelerator, we usually invite 5 to 6 of the best funding experts from the alumni to share their experience and give advice to the founding teams. The only theme in this event is the straight-forward sharing of the useful and practical information by alumni The day before Demo Day, we hold Alumni Demo Day. It's similar to the above event, except that participating audiences are all alumni. The purpose of this is to help everyone in a friendly environment, to perfect the last deficiencies in each one's speech, or to provide some small angel investment by alumni ### As more and more startups have been invested in by MiraclePlus, the value of the alumni community network is becoming increasingly important in the services we provide At first it was zero because we didn't have alumni yet. However, as the batch of startups funded by MiraclePlus grows every six months, we will create an alumni network. The more start-ups we fund, the faster the alumni network develops Our alumni network is powerful not only because of its size, but also because of the steadfast commitment made by its members to help each other. This commitment is originally derived from our attempt to encourage the spirit of cooperation in each batch of projects. Entrepreneurship can be very lonely, so one of the goals of our program is to solve this problem, that is, to provide the founders of companies with only 2 or 3 members with proper colleagues When people get our funds, they find that the alumni network is structured. The innermost layer is the same group of founders, and they do many things to help each other, such as becoming internal beta users of each other's products or helping with professional knowledge. They may become good friends later. Many of the founders' closest friends are those who worked with them in the batch, just like developing friendships at school We encourage the spirit of cooperation among us, which comes very naturally. Once we realize that this is happening, we start to encourage it so that connections are made between startups and alumni who can boost startups further Alumni are not blindly loyal, though. What ultimately holds this network together is the quality of the people ### We have a good network of connections all over the world There are many ways startups can benefit from these connections. One is that we can arrange introductions for almost anyone in our connection network of alumni We have agreements with many companies with variant extent of formality in the tech world. They can either offer free services or special access to the startups we fund, such as Amazon's $100,000 cloud service offering We also have connections with many so called "platform companies", which allows us to remove the difficulties startups face when building things on their platforms. We often host events where people can talk to startups in the MiraclePlu We have good relationships not because we are particularly gregarious, but because we have a lot of great companies in our community. As a result, any company looking to connect with the startup community can go directly to our website and gain access to hundreds of high-quality startups at once. Journalists in the venture capital field know that they can call us, and we can walk them through multiple examples of what they're writing about, whether it is a startup building a mobile application, or a company working on co-working space Investors or companies that try to mistreat startups funded by MiraclePlus are usually deterred because of the size and closeness of the alumni network. Since everyone understands the power of this network, much of its value lies in deterrence: in fact, few people try to mistreat the companies we fund because they know it's not worth it. The horror stories about investors screwing up startups rarely happen in MiraclePlus ### Initially, there was only one social event per week. We gradually increased our events to a level of just right We don't want too much socializing. While founders often become good friends through the program, that's not our main purpose. In addition, social events organized by sponsoring organizations are often poor; but in real communities, members tend to organize their events spontaneously In the first or second week of each batch, we organize a meetup for the founders so that everyone can get to know each other. On the last day of Demo Day, after the audience has left, there is usually another party with less restrictions. We also occasionally organize events for other relaxing occasions We organize reunions for each batch of MiraclePlus. As time spans so quickly in the startup field, we don't wait until the next year, and the reunion is usually about 6 weeks after the program ends. The reason is that startups usually hit stumbling block and start getting frustrated by then, so they can be encouraged by old alumni and keep their chins up At the end of each batch, founders naturally tend to get together. That's because they have a lot in common and have many of the same experiences together. As one founder put it: Since my last job, one of my aims is to stop being mediocre and to get along with people who are smarter than me. Accelerator of MiraclePlus helped me achieve that ----- # FAQ > FAQs on applying, investment terms, business plans, videos, interviews, and whether founders must come to Beijing. Source: https://www.miracleplus.com/faq/ Markdown: https://www.miracleplus.com/faq.md ### What can MiraclePlus provide for founders? [These](https://www.miracleplus.com/batch.md) ### How can we get funding from MiraclePlus? [Apply online](https://www.miracleplus.com/apply.md) for our next funding cycle. We provide two rounds of programs and funding for start-up companies every year ### How much does MiraclePlus invest? We invest USD300,000 (or RMB equivalent) in exchange for 7% of the company's equity. If your start-up is not in Mainland, China, then our investment can be made on SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity). For projects that have already been funded, we can make it in line with the previous cycle of evaluation investment ### Is a business plan (BP) needed for the application? No. We make decisions to invest through application forms and interviews. If you have a demo, that's even better, but we don't ask for any business plan. ### Why doesn't MiraclePlues check the applicant's BP? Most people may have experienced an in-class exam. In 45 minutes, with your books closed and mobile phone turned off, you only concentrate on answering a test paper. Then you wait for the review and score. Of course, if you couldn't answer some questions, you can already predict the test results Applying for the MiraclePlus Accelerator is a similar experience. You have about 45 minutes to fill in a form. You don't have to provide a BP. After that, you might find that you don't have clear answers to some questions that the investors may ask. However, unlike the exam, there may be a prize for filling out this application form, which is funding and acceptance into the three-month program Why does MiraclePlus review an application form instead of asking for a BP? Frankly speaking, it saves everyone's time The application form includes the most core questions for early-stage startups, and it is based on our iterations over the past 15 years. Due to unequal information, investors know exactly what they want, but founders are not sure what they want. Founders don't need to spend time thinking about what investors want to see, nor do they need to modify PPT over and over again, or make pictures and charts, etc. For investors, they can find key information quickly and review applications efficiently ### How do you ensure that each application will be reviewed seriously? First, each application goes into the "pending review". MiraclePlus Accelerator is held in spring and autumn every year, but you can apply for it all year round. (You can log in to the official website of MiraclePlus.) Applications submitted before the deadline will be scheduled for review and interview for the current batch. Applications submitted after the deadline will be reviewed for the next batch. The only difference, depending on the time of submission, is how long the applicant receives our feedback Second, each application will be screened according to the standard process Submitted applications enter into the review system that does not have a Conditional Filtering Function. This means that the MiraclePlus team or community members responsible for reviewing must read applications one by one and score them independently, without being able to set a preference to see what they want and avoid what they don't Generally speaking, in the first round, applications will be scored independently by a few of MiraclePlus team members and community members, with a general pass rate of about 50%. In the second round, 3-6 MiraclePlus founding teams will score independently, with a pass rate of about 10%-20% of the total applications. Applicants then go to the interview, where they can get funding and access to the batch after passing the interview Third, the information structure of the application form is simple, so you will not miss the highlights We encourage you to fill out the application form with a simple sentence. Through this, you extract the key points of the business idea and it also allows investors to quickly get the gist. MiraclePlus's selection is based on the project's highlights, not flaws. Therefore, a 1-minute video with concise and structured information would be better. We can ensure that as long as the highlights are found, your application will enter the next round of review ### Will you sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)? How do you ensure that our business ideas will not be leaked? We won't sign any Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). No venture capital firms will sign a confidentiality agreement at this stage. However, we have more informal commitments to confidentiality on our application forms than any other venture capital firms ### Can we submit two applications for two business ideas? It is not recommended. You should apply for the startup idea that you want to work on the most ### Do I have to upload a video? Do you have any specific requirements? How to submit it? Uploading a video is a must. You can take videos with your mobile phone or computer camera. The content of the video is similar to a casual chat with a friend. Please check [this](https://www.miracleplus.com/videoguideline.md) for the specifications of the shooting and uploading ### How can I increase the chance of a successful application? Please try to be as concise as possible when you present advantages and highlights of your project. Please submit your application as early as possible so it will give us enough time to review it. For other information, you can refer to [this](https://www.miracleplus.com/howtoapply.md) ### Do you invest in various startups in the same field? Yes. We invest in a wide range of startups. Though we avoid accepting competing companies, we’d end up with them anyway because startup ideas morph so much. So from early on, we made sure that if two MiraclePlus startups are working on related stuff, we don't talk to one about what the other's doing In fact, companies with different product/service solutions can co-exist in the markets with great potential. Moreover, it is unlikely that two companies have exactly the same business ### Why has my application been rejected? It is difficult for us to give [reasons for rejections](%{whynot_path}), due to the limitation of ourselves. We hope you don't mind this. In fact, even the best investors often fail to pick the right startup. Generally speaking, it’s a satisfying result that 4 out of 10 companies invested in by a venture capital firm succeed ### How can we tell if our application has been submitted successfully? After you submit the application, we will send a confirmation text or email (if you filled in the email address during registration) with a copy of your application information. If you do not find this text message or email, please check the spam text and email. If you haven't found it yet, please make sure you fill in the correct phone number and email address in your application If you still cannot find a confirmation text or email, it is likely that you have not submitted your application successfully. To submit your application, click on the "Edit Application" button on your account screen. The submit button is at the top of the application page ### Can we attend the Accelerator without coming to Beijing? Sorry, no. We've tried this before, but start-ups that didn't come were more likely to be way behind others on Demo Day. Therefore, all activities should be carried out face to face in Beijing. However, if your start-up is overseas, it's possible for you to join our batch online All events will be held offline, unless there’s irresistible factor such as lockdown caused by Covid-19. When the epidemic was severe, we had an online program, but this is quite uncommon Of course, you don't have to be in Beijing all the time. If your project requires you to go elsewhere, we will also make some adjustments to allow you to participate more fully in our program. Founding team members can also take turns coming to the batch, or going back and forth each week during the period Certainly, after the three-month program, you are free to choose the city in which your company is based ### Can non-founding partners join us if I attend the program? We require that members of startups who come to the batch must have at least 5% of the companies' equity ### If our project is previously funded, can we still apply for the program with its spin-off project? Yes, but only if the founder can spend most of time on the spin-off projects ### Should I apply for the program? ### What are the dates for the next batch? The specific date is to be determined, and the confirmed time information is displayed [here](https://www.miracleplus.com/apply.md) ### 2. We‘ve already been working on our startup for a while. Is MiraclePlus appropriate for us? Yes. We've invested in many of these teams and we really like them ### We‘ve already raised funding. Can we still apply? Sure. Each Miracle batch has many companies who have already raised over $1M ### We don't really need the money. Can we still apply? At least half of the startups we fund don't need the money. In fact, funding is only a small part of [what we do](https://www.miracleplus.com/batch.md). It's more like financial aid in colleges for those in need to cover their living expenses during the program ### What if our project requires a large capital investment? We will still invest in you, but our goal is not to urge you develop a product in 3 months. We aim to build a more compelling model to raise more funding at a later stage ### Do you only fund startups that write software? No, we'll consider startups in any field ### Can a single person apply for funding? Yes. We regularly accept solo founders. That said, our advice remains that one-person startups are tough and you're more likely to succeed with a co-founder ### I have a great idea for a startup, but I‘m not technical. Will you still fund me? It's important for the founding team to have the skills to build their product themselves, rather than outsourcing it to someone else. For most businesses, that usually means you need a technical co-founder ### Do we need to set up a company before applying for the program? No ### Can we apply more than once? Yes. In a typical MiraclePlus batch, about half the companies applied multiple times before being accepted. If you've applied before and not gotten in, we strongly encourage you to apply again. Having made progress since your last application is a strong signal to us ### Do we need to know someone at MiraclePlus to get in? No. One of MiraclePlus's core principles is considering all applications equally. We don't rely on introductions the way many investors do ### If we participated in another accelerator, can we do MiraclePlus? Yes. We've had many companies join MiraclePlus after doing another accelerator. However, if you've done another accelerator already, we may expect that you've reached a higher level of progress ### Late Applications ### What are Late Applications? Late applications are those submitted after the application deadlines (usually in mid-January or mid-July). If you submit an application after the deadline, your application is automatically tagged as “late” ### Do you get penalized for submitting late applications? No. Your application will be reviewed on the merits of its content and not on its timing. You lose out on i) responsiveness – it will take us longer to get back to you since we received your app outside of the dedicated time set aside for application processing, ii) coverage – fewer partners review late applications, which means there's a greater chance they'll miss your value prop, and iii) acceptance rate – late applications are generally competing for fewer slots, so it's harder to be accepted the later you apply ### What happens when I submit a late application? Late applications will be processed ad-hoc, based simply on the availability of the partners to read and review it. We review all late applications with the same criteria as on-time applications. The only difference is that it will take a little patience to get your results ### When will I get a reply if I submit a late application? While we do our best to process late applications as soon as we can, it depends on the availability of partners and the time they need to read and review the late applications. Partners are busy helping the startups we've funded, so it may take anywhere from a couple of days to several weeks before you'll get a reply If you haven't heard from us, be patient. All that silence means is that we haven't reviewed your application yet. As soon as we do, we'll email you ### How do we get our late application results? We'll email you the results of our application review just like we do for on-time applications. You'll either receive an invitation to interview that contains details of our in-person meeting, or you'll get an email to say that we won't be interviewing you right now. If you aren't invited to interview, we hope that you don't get discouraged and that you continue with your pursuit to build something great ### Do you give feedback on application results? We provide brief feedback to all users who submit applications. As we have so many applications to process, we can only give a brief opinion on each project. After you receive the result of our review, you can check the feedback on the application page ### When do you hold late applicant interviews? It's impossible to provide a specific date. Sometimes late applicants and on-time applicants are scheduled to have interviews at the same time. We also hold interviews for late applicants before the batch starts, and you may also have an interview at this time If your application really impresses us, we may also arrange you an interview after the completion of the current admissions. We cannot provide an exact date until we have actually reviewed your application (the same applies to on-time applicants) ### Is there a deadline for submitting a late application? There is no hard deadline. We'll keep allowing teams to submit late applications even when a batch has commenced. Again, the later you submit your application, the harder it is to get into the program ### Can I submit a late application after an on-time one? No, please don't do this. If you submit a late application after already having submitted one on-time for the same startup, your application will be flagged as suspicious and won't get reviewed by partners. Please refrain from doing this and wait for the next application cycle to submit a new application ### I have a great reason for why my application is late - can you mark it as on time? Sorry, no. But don't worry! Just get it in as soon as possible ### Compute Applications Application Guidelines ### What are the obligations for receiving support? There are no KPIs or equity requirements. The admitted teams only need to provide a brief progress update every 1–2 months and adhere to usage protocols (no subleasing or resale). For projects moving toward commercialization, MiraclePlus would appreciate the opportunity to explore potential investment and acceleration as a priority partner. ### Who is eligible? Is remote access available for international teams? MiraclePlus Compute is open to universities, research institutes, enterprises, startups, and independent researchers globally. Your physical location or business registration does not affect eligibility. While our infrastructure is based in Haidian, Beijing, we fully support remote access for international teams, and have supported 60+ teams worldwide. ### What are the application timeline and process? - Timeline: Applications are accepted year-round on a rolling basis. Early submission is recommended. - Criteria: We prioritize research capability, technical fit, and project potential—specifically high-quality, practical applications. - Review: The process is managed by the MiraclePlus team, similar to our investment screening. - Results: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; the screening period usually takes around 2 months. - Re-application: If not selected, you are welcome to re-apply in future rounds. ### What resources and allocation methods are provided? - Hardware: NVIDIA high-performance GPUs (we may expand the types of provided GPUs overtime). - Quota: Up to 1 million RMB in compute Quota (equivalent to 8x H800 cards for 15 months). - Allocation: Credits will be allocated based on a comprehensive assessment of each project. Once accepted, credits are issued on a dedicated platform for immediate use. ### Is the support free? What is the duration? The computing power is entirely free and includes access to the broader MiraclePlus ecosystem, such as technical workshops and Office Hours with partners and alumni. Compute usage can be scheduled flexibly within the granted period. Extensions or credit increases may be requested. Should the project team pivot during the period, the team shall notify the MiraclePlus team for approval. ### Does MiraclePlus require credit in results or equity? MiraclePlus welcomes acknowledgement in academic publications but does not mandate it. We do not require equity. If a project pursues commercialization, MiraclePlus would value the opportunity to be your first choice for acceleration and investment. ### Will support be affected if progress is slower than expected? No. Even if a project does not meet expectations, this will not affect future compute or Accelerator applications. MiraclePlus does not terminate support mid-way due to slow progress. ### Does my research need to lead to a startup to be eligible? No. Our goal is to support the exploration of scientific frontier. Purely academic or scientific projects with no plans for commercialization are fully eligible for support and are encouraged to apply. ----- # Reasons why MiraclePlus didn’t invite some founding teams for interviews > Why an application may not lead to an interview, and what happens after you apply. Source: https://www.miracleplus.com/whynot/ Markdown: https://www.miracleplus.com/whynot.md ## Reasons why MiraclePlus didn’t invite some founding teams for interviews That being the case, why didn't we tell everyone the specific reasons? Well, because most of time, there are no particular reasons. A mid-level application is pretty good, and it gets rejected not because it looks bad, but because there are many other excellent applications Our screening is a selective test, and we only admit a fixed number of applicants at the top of the list, regardless of average level of all applications. In most cases, applicants wonder why they were rejected, perhaps because they take it subconsciously as a general PASS or FAIL exam Due to our own constraints, we can only interview a certain number of teams. The top 50% of the projects were actually good, and a considerable part of the applicants did not participate in the interview not because they had any obvious shortcomings, but because there were more outstanding applications Therefore, we cannot reply to emails requesting the reason for rejections, because there is actually no reason in many cases. We can make up a reason for saying no, but the reason would be a lie. The better the team is, more lies we have to make up. The reason why we didn't invite many high-level applications for interviews is not due to themselves. Instead, they were just replaced by the most outstanding teams ### Why didn't MiraclePlus invite us? ### Many founding teams that we didn’t invite for interviews wanted to know why they were rejected, because everyone wanted to know how they could do better ----- # Specifications for video recording and uploading > Guidance for recording and submitting the application video. Source: https://www.miracleplus.com/videoguideline/ Markdown: https://www.miracleplus.com/videoguideline.md ## Specifications for video recording and uploading Please introduce yourself and what you are doing, and explain why you are making this product in the video. Please feel free to introduce any information about the founding team and the project, but remember to keep it simple and concise. We expect you to take it as a causal chat with friends instead of being formal The video should be about 1 minute long, and applicants can upload it directly through our website. If you upload it to other video sites (such as Youku or Bilibili) without meaning to publicize it, you can set a password for your video. In this case, please specify your password in the application The video should only contain the founder's talk. Please do not edit the video or add screenshots, because we do not want to turn this into a video contest. Background music is also distracting, and it's a waste of time. Therefore, please don't add any background music. We're more likely to dismiss a video because of its background music Memorizing a pre-written script is NOT recommended. One reason is that it takes too much time and energy to prepare, and second is that it seems unnatural. Please take it as a natural conversation with a friend. Giving a memorized speech (or even worse, reading words directly from the screen) looks very unnatural and staged. Even if you are a good actor, we don't recommend you recite a well-prepared speech Before you upload the video, please play it and check if you can hear it clearly. We can't hear many submitted videos clearly. Please ensure that the sound in the video is clear and audible, and the video is visible. There may be problems if the format is different We don't have many samples now. If necessary, please refer to [video shooting sample 1](https://miracleplus-production-videos.s3.cn-north-1.amazonaws.com.cn/1633783078758237.mp4) and [video shooting sample 2](https://miracleplus-production-videos.s3.cn-north-1.amazonaws.com.cn/biosysen.mov.mp4) ### Specifications of video recording and uploading ### Spending too much time on the video recording is totally unnecessary. You can just use your mobile phone, Zoom, Tencent Meeting, or any video conferencing software to record. The video does not need post-processing at all. Please control the time length in one minute. We mainly want to see what kind of team you are through the video, because it may convey some information beyond words ----- # About MiraclePlus > MiraclePlus's mission, values, and how it supports founders. Source: https://www.miracleplus.com/about/ Markdown: https://www.miracleplus.com/about.md ## About MiraclePlus ## About Us Our Mission Our Value Beyond Funding Accelerator ### Our Work ### MiraclePlus provides initial funding for startups. Our goal is to help founders take the first step and accelerate startup development ### Our Mission We invest the initial funding in exchange for a small stake in the startup’s equity Every venture capitalist more or less provides you with money and help. As far as MiraclePlus is concerned, startup capital always plays a supporting role. Many of the startups we invest in don’t need funding at all, and other founders in need can use the money to cover their basic daily living expenses. #### Helping Startups Grow From 0 to 1 ### Our Value ### We believe that the most valuable output of a founder is that he/she spends his/her time solving actual problems. Therefore, our goal is to create an environment where you can fully focus on developing products and communicating with users ### Joining Your Startup Journey Start-up funding is the earliest stages of venture capital, which allows you to get your startup concept off the ground and covers the basic costs for you. Some startups may only need seed round funding, while others may receive several rounds of funding. There are no right or wrong answers when it comes to funding - it all depends on the type of your startup **At MiraclePlus, we will help you develop products that are good enough to be successful in the market** ### Acting as A Guide and Support We won’t interfere with operations, shareholder structures, or the management of any startup team we invest in, and we don’t even think about controlling the startup. We give suggestions, but we don’t force any team to adopt and implement them. The pursuit of “independence” is one of the reasons why many founders choose to start a business, and it’s one of the reasons why startup teams can succeed Why is our mechanism so flexible? Because we want to be the first choice for all startups when it comes to seed round funding. In order to achieve this goal, we must set an example and do our best at every step ### MORE THAN JUST FUNDING ### Helping Entrepreneurs Go Faster and Further Our most important job is to polish founders’ own business ideas with them. Everyone in MiraclePlus has the hacker spirit. We spend most of our time thinking about how to create products that people want. Therefore, when someone has a start-up idea, we can usually quickly tell if it has potential and in which direction it will go to help the original idea gain more value **Startup teams usually face various problems in the early stage, as small as how to name the company, or as big as how to make a plan to conquer the world in the future. That’s why we are here to help founders find answers to these questions during the three-month program** ### Providing Holistic Resources for Support For some teams in their early stage, we also help the startup teams we invest in to register companies legally and formally, and help build connections with some valuable resources provided by the local government. We also guide them to understand all legal documents and fill in them correctly. This is to avoid serious unknown risks to the company’s funding caused by time consumption and uncertainties on legal problems. We also introduce the founding teams to some great law firms. Moreover, it’s almost a part of our daily routine to help our teams find their first suitable employees. We also help answer questions about intellectual property rights, such as what products are suitable for applying for patents, when to register patents, and so on. We are also good at dealing with something that is less publicly discussed, that is, disputes between founders. Few startups think they’ll use this service, but most startups will need it at some point. The experience and services we can provide to you are priceless. ### Accelerator ### We recruit a certain number of startup teams twice a year, and fund each startup initial capital. We have two Batch Programs each year in spring and autumn respectively ### How to Join To apply for the Batch Program, you only need to fill out the Application Form. We invite selected teams to come to Beijing for interviews. After the interviews, we make a decision on whether to invest in these teams ### Three Month of Fast Growth We expect most of the team members in each team that we decide to invest in, at least the CEO, to participate in activities in Beijing during the three-month Batch Program. During this period, the founders (or teams) need to participate in GOH (Group Office Hour) every two weeks to discuss and analyze the progress and problems of their own projects. They can make unlimited appointments with any of our partners and experts to discuss and analyze various special problems of their startups (Office Hour) ### Accelerator Benefits **Closed-Door Sharing** During the period in the program, we organize a closed-door supper every week at MiraclePlus. We invite a senior entrepreneur to share some of his/her own experience during each supper. Speakers are usually company founders, venture capitalists, journalists, and executives of well-known technology companies. Later, the speaker may often become an advisor or investor to some of the teams that participate in the supper **Demo Day** Around the 10th week of the batch, we hold a Demo Day that lasts for two days. All startups participating in the program need to present their products and services to a group of investors and media audiences specially invited by MiraclePlus ### Community Resource After The Three Month Investment in a batch of startup teams is a win-win model. We can obtain a huge alumni network resource and use it to help startup teams in more ways. This includes providing basic test users and feedback, finding a landing spot in an unfamiliar city, finding programmers to help with bugs in your system, and recommending people resources. There is a big chance that someone in this network will be able to help you  ----- # MiraclePlus Team > Partners, staff, and internship or visiting programs. Source: https://www.miracleplus.com/principles/ Markdown: https://www.miracleplus.com/principles.md ## The Founding Principles of MiraclePlus Regardless of the tradeoffs, creating a startup is a good thing. When starting a business, founders and early employees are far more productive than they would have been if they were working for a traditional large company. The goal of MiraclePlus is to create more startups by helping founders start their businesses MiraclePlus represents the combination of two ideas: applying mass production to accelerate startups in batches. Accelerating startups this way is not only more efficient but also more beneficial to the founders The value of MiraclePlus is like multiplication, which product is equal to the number of startups we help multiplied by the quality of help we provide. If the factors get bigger, then the product will also be astonishing From the moment MiraclePlus invests in a startup, we always put the founders' interest first, even before our own. From a perspective of business profitability, this may seem counter-intuitive, but in the venture capital industry, it's a viable model. Just as honest people will get positive feedback, the benefit of kindness will be ultimately greater than the cost, so the scalability of this model is quite high. Likewise, only a truly good person can be kind consistently, so our employees must be good people We must remember that our role is that of investors, not bosses. We can make suggestions or try to persuade, but we cannot give orders. Moreover, great founders only need advice. You can't understand the dilemma of entrepreneurship unless you've started a business before, and those who advise founders should have been founders MiraclePlus is also a startup and must remain so. Many startups we invest in get their first dose of meme from MiraclePlus, so MiraclePlus has to set an example. MiraclePlus has to move fast, control cost, be flexible , and focus on the fundamental problems. If there is an unexplained situation that only occurs in large companies, it is likely to be a mistake. As for being kind, the first line of defense we must pay attention to is recruitment The most successful founders are driven more by a passion for their creation than by financial gain. MiraclePlus proved that this principle also applies to investing. The motivation for us to start MiraclePlus is this: If we help founders in the earliest stages, more successful startups will emerge. This hypothesis has proven to be correct and very promising. Just focus on helping founders then everything else will follow ----- # Code of Conduct for Founders of MiraclePlus > Code of conduct for founders and the community. Source: https://www.miracleplus.com/ethics/ Markdown: https://www.miracleplus.com/ethics.md ## Code of Conduct for Founders of MiraclePlus The founder community is strong because its members share common values, such as integrity, trustworthiness, and treating people with respect and responsibility. We believe these traits are necessary for good founders. The longevity and value of the founder community depend on the integrity of each member. It includes banning him/her from using the venue, software, and information of MiraclePlus and from participating in the events of MiraclePLus. Depending on the circumstances, the founders of a startup as a whole may be held responsible for the unethical behavior of one of its co-founders or employees For founders with good morals, no matter what difficulties your startup encounters, we will always support you and walk with you ### The core of MiraclePlus is the community made of founders, a human network built on mutual trust ----- # Compute > Free compute support for research and startups; the application follows the accelerator process.
